Specially formulated for the Evolution Dog Wash. Deodorizing shampoo.
Washing your dog with this homemade shampoo won't strip his fur's natural oils.
Again, that all depends on your dog’s breed, their individual skin sensitivity, and the product you are using to cleanse. A general rule of thumb is every 4-8 weeks and only use products meant for pets. Our professional line of shampoos are specifically designed for frequent washing. They are Ph balanced for your pets skin and will not irritate or dry. To add moisture, consider using our Oatmeal shampoo and/or follow up your wash with one of our powerful moisturizing rinses. Our house shampoo (and other specialty shampoos) will not impact Spot-on Flea & Tick products.
Personally... I absolutely HATE dog shampoos. Not only are they very expensive but have very strong smells, I admit I'm very sensitive to smells but that's nothing comparing to what the dog is smelling. I agree with the comments on PH levels, and having said that most dog shampoos are loaded with detergent instead of gentle glycerin based soaps which would be PH neutral. To wash my dogs I get natural, scent free soap bars from a health store; and feel free to splurge on a good quality bar because, unlike the liquid shampoos, it will last and last and last. As an added bonus I found it much easier to use a bar of soap to wash both my giant mutt and a pocket sized min-pin, just rub the bar all over their coats, give the doggies a good massage, rinse and prepare for a shake-off :)

All of our shampoos and conditioners are cruelty free, and do not contain harsh chemicals, pesticides, or preservatives that can be harmful to your pet and the environment. We'll start with the how's of people skin and dog skin. A highly important component of skin is what is called the acid mantle. This is a lightly acidic layer that covers the skin, serving as a barrier to protect the porous topmost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, from environmental contaminants such as bacteria and viruses. The stratum corneum is responsible for keeping the outer body well hydrated, by absorbing water and not allowing excessive evaporation to occur. When we bathe, using soaps and shampoos, we wash away this layer of acidic oil. This is why most human shampoos and soaps are formulated with moisturizers to replace the protective layer that has been scrubbed away, at least until the skin is able to replenish itself around 12 hours later. If the stratum corneum is left stripped and unprotected, it is open to a host of microorganisms, which may present as dry, flaky skin, irritated, peeling skin, or as a rash of itchy bumps.
